Everything about these last few years have been high stress. From the pandemic, food
shortages, the Great Resignation, inflation, mass shooting, the fight against racism and really the list can go on. Its utterly exhausting to live on planet earth! All that stress can start to show on your skin and most importantly your body. So I have put together 3 ways to stick it to the man and Girl, Just Relax!
1. Breathing A lot
You ever notice when you get nervous or scared you breath quicker. Or when you are hit with horrible news you take a deep breath. What if I told you that was your body's de-stress response.Abdominal breathing helps to control the nervous system and encourages the body to relax, bringing about a range of health benefits.
Recommendation: Yoga, Walking , Meditation
2. Listening to Upbeat Music
Have you ever noticed based on certain moods you listen to music to further validate that feeling ie Break-up music when going through a break-up. Well that can also be done in reverse. Feeling stress? upbeat music that makes you sing along and dance releases oxytocin in your brain. Yep' That feel good hormone. Listening to slower deeper music can also make you release the burden(s) of the day.
3.Self- Care Day
A good ole spa day is always the ticket for me to feel super relax. I prefer to do my own
facials and going to a masseuse for a rub down. Carving out time for you is a great way to to get in alignment with your purpose, talk to God and even listen to your body. Taking some of the items you already own and grab a couple items you always wanted to try can make the perfect self-care day!
There are so many options to get you de stress, whatever you choose just choose. There is nothing more important than your mental health!
